Signios Bio Xenium 5K Spatial Transcriptomics Grant Program

Signios Biosciences (“Signios Bio”), a science-first biotechnology company offering multiomics services, in collaboration with 10x Genomics, is offering a Signios-sponsored grant for the Xenium 5K Spatial Transcriptomics platform. This high-plex, imaging-based spatial technology enables targeted, single-cell-resolution gene expression profiling directly in human and mouse tissue sections.

The Xenium 5K Panel enables the simultaneous detection of up to 5,000 RNA targets per sample while preserving spatial context, allowing researchers to study cell-type localization, cell–cell interactions, biomarker expression, and pathway activity within intact tissue architecture. The platform supports FFPE and fresh-frozen tissues and delivers high-resolution gene expression maps at scale.

Signios Bio and 10x Genomics will work closely with the awardees to support experimental execution, data analysis, and publication efforts. Following completion of the study, award recipients will have the opportunity to present their findings at upcoming Signios/10x Genomics scientific events.

Grant Opportunity: What We’re Offering
We aim to support innovative spatial transcriptomics projects by awarding grants to top proposals using the Xenium 5K platform. The grant will cover the cost of Xenium processing and analysis for two Xenium 5K slides, with full access to Signios Bio’s expertise in workflow support, data generation, and analysis.

Awards:
A total of six awards will be granted across three categories:

• First Place Grant Recipient (1 grant winner):
• • Priority access to a Xenium 5K run in our lab in Foster City, CA
  • Full-service spatial transcriptomics, including sectioning, sample placement on two Xenium 5K slides, imaging, and data processing
  • Support for data analysis and quality control by our bioinformatics team

• Second Place (2 grant winners):
  
  • 50% off ($30k value) – total service cost $15K
  • Xenium 5K run, two slides, in our lab in Foster City, CA
  • Full-service spatial transcriptomics, including sectioning, sample placement on two Xenium 5K slides, imaging, and data processing
  • Support for data analysis and quality control via our bioinformatics team

• Third Place (3 grant winners):
  
  • 30% off ($30k value) – total service cost $21k
  • Xenium 5K run, two slides, in our lab in Foster City, CA
  • Full-service spatial transcriptomics, including sectioning, sample placement on two Xenium 5K slides, imaging, and data processing
  • Support for data analysis and quality control via our bioinformatics team

Who Should Apply and What Project Types?

• This grant program is open only to U.S.- based applicants.
• Eligible applicants include:

Projects should include:

• A clear biological hypothesis amenable to spatial transcriptomics (e.g., tumor microenvironment, tissue architecture, cellular heterogeneity, biomarker localization)
• A need for high-plex RNA profiling with single-cell spatial resolution, particularly for focused gene sets or pathway-level analyses
